Sparking Curiosity,
Igniting Engagement.
Explore The Challenge
TN STEM recognized that sparking curiosity for students begins with the educator. We needed to design this annual event experience to cause teachers to lean in, raise their awareness, ask more questions, and be curious learners. Working with TN STEM, we’re presented with a unique challenge to meet STEM educators from all levels, backgrounds, and schools where they’re at, connect them with one another, provide them with resources, and combat the fatigue that virtual learners may face.
The Solution
From branding to programming and the content experience, we wanted to infuse the theme of “sparking curiosity” everywhere. To address virtual learning fatigue, we made keynotes interactive by incorporating live chat and polls. The in-person experience and programming seamlessly blended education with connection through various tracks, offered resources in the exhibit hall, fostered collaboration among regionally based STEM educators, and inspired attendees through powerful keynote sessions.
The Results
Technology is a part of our daily lives, and how much more for STEM educators. We sought to support TN STEM’s hybrid event experience with technology that empowers attendee interaction for both in person and online audiences, provides seamless access to STEM resources and event content, and increases overall event engagement. Some in person attendees reported the accessibility of breakout sessions online through the app was a “game-changer” this year. To the left are more results of our collaborative efforts.
Total in Attendance. We sold out in person attendance, plus sold 131 virtual tickets.
Total Event App Adoption Rate. The industry average hovers around 60%.
Total Event App Engagement. That’s an avg. of 227 actions taken per user.
